Our Gift Biz is Celebrating 19 Years in Business!
This month is Our Gift Biz' 19th anniversary.
Our Gift Biz began its operations as a premier concierge gift-giving business.
Becky Briggs, the founder of Our Gift Biz, throwing caution to the wind, left corporate America to strike-out on her own to solve a mission for busy professionals. Through her own experiences and the troublesome tales of others, she understood the significance of locating, designing, wrapping, and delivering ideal gifts for clients, partners, staff, and loved ones.
Never once did the thought of how long Our Gift Biz would exist, Becky moved forward with her goal in the crosshairs. Although strategies and tactics changed throughout the years, the mission and vision remained the same. Initially, the business offered concierge gift-giving by communicating with a live person, known as a gift-giving guru. Even though that method of buying gifts is still active, technology has enabled buyers to make purchases more seamlessly without sacrificing quality and personal attention. Our Gift Biz' website makes it easier to view categories of gifts, select the perfect gift, securely pay for products, and provide instructions for special requests.
Many learned lessons occurred during the company's years in business. An example of a valuable piece of advice is that business plans are not 100% predictable or executable. The likelihood of a business succeeding is more assured with a business plan. However, it is not a guarantee.
According to the Small Business Association (SBA), only 30% of new businesses fail during the first two years, 50% during the first five years, and 66% during the first 10 years. The SBA goes further to affirm that only 25% make it to 15 years or more.
The top six reasons for new business failure are:
Failure to Investigate the Market
Poorly Written Business Plans
Not Enough Funding
Internet Presence, Marketing, and a Bad Location
Inflexibleness and Rigidity
Expanding to Quickly
Beyond the six most common reasons for business failure, consideration must be given to circumstances changing, life's challenges, hurdles, and obstacles, personally and professionally. Often, trial and error determine the next steps and best practices. Maintaining a strong reputation, impeccable integrity, and unquestionable credibility are paramount for business success.
Other factors contribute to business success, too. Quality control, streamlined processes, proven procedures, accurate accounting, and ensuring your clients, partners, colleagues, and staff feel valued by being recognized requires hypervigilance.
Our Gift Biz' long history in business never strays from its core principles and learned lessons. The company offers classic, quality designs, flawless service, and are on the constant search to find award-winning gourmet products and gift collections to WOW its buyers. Buyers' details are never overlooked, including the finishing touches.
Our Gift Biz' clients and customers buy from the company over-and-over again. They keep coming back. The company's mantra is to provide gifts that tug at the gift recipient's heartstrings, create long-lasting memories, and sentimental emotions.
THE BUSINESS ALWAYS STRIVES TO FULFILL ITS FORMULA
